Gift Baskets For Every Occasion

Posted on December 20, 2023 by Laura Sinclair

When it comes to gifts, people tend to agree that gift baskets are a perennial crowd-pleaser. They’re a thoughtful, unique, and often very personal present that makes a great surprise for friends and family alike. And while the traditional basket may have included an assortment of fruits and nonperishable snacks, today’s versions are nearly limitless and can be themed for any occasion or personality. From New York-inspired deli treats to a bath collection for the self-care enthusiast, here are a few ideas to inspire you.

Gift baskets are also a great option for work functions, birthdays, or anniversaries. They’re the perfect way to send your appreciation to employees, clients, or colleagues. And, unlike individual presents that can be lost or misplaced, a well-curated gift basket is an excellent way to deliver multiple items in one package.

Whether you’re a foodie or not, everyone will enjoy a snack-filled gift basket. However, you should keep in mind that food-based gift baskets are more perishable than other types of gifts and may spoil within a few days. To reduce the risk of this happening, opt for nonperishable or semi-perishable foods such as a variety of cheeses, crackers, and spreads.

If you’re creating a custom basket, consider the recipient’s dietary restrictions. For example, if someone is lactose intolerant, you might want to avoid food items that contain dairy. Similarly, if someone is allergic to nuts, you should avoid including any nuts in the basket.

Another thing to consider is the size of the basket you choose. A larger basket will obviously be heavier and more expensive than a smaller one. A larger basket is ideal if you’re sending it to an entire family or a group of friends, but if you’re only giving it to a few people, opt for a smaller one.

Themed gift baskets are a popular choice, and there’s one for just about every interest. The most common themes include a selection of teas or coffees, candles, and bath products. But, you can even find baskets for a range of hobbies, from tools for a handyman to comic books and supplies for beer brewers.

For a fun DIY option, try filling an old or empty crate or basket with homemade goodies. Or, if you’re looking for something that has already been put together, look no further than Knack, which allows you to build a custom gift basket with all sorts of gourmet ingredients and accessories. You can choose from dozens of combinations and add a personalized note to make the basket extra special.
