Christmas: How to Use Accessories to Spice Up Your Bathroom Decor

Posted on December 13, 2023 by Laura Sinclair

When it comes to decorating your bathroom, accessories play a huge part. They can help you create a sense of cohesion, provide you with storage space and make your space feel more stylish.

Whether you’re looking to decorate for a specific holiday or just want to add some Christmas spirit to your bathroom, here are some ideas for you!

1. Using a theme

For the best results, it’s always best to stick with a theme for your bathroom decor. Whether it’s beachy, nautical or farmhouse, this will give your bathroom a cohesive look and feel that makes it look and feel like a well-designed room.

2. Use a color scheme to tie it all together

You can also create a more cohesive look by choosing one accent color for your entire space. This way, your bathroom will appear more finished and polished than it would if you used a lot of different colors.

3. Use an element of nature to bring in a touch of the outdoors

If you’re looking to give your bathroom a more natural and earthy feel, consider using a wooden shelf for your storage needs. It’s a great way to add some visual interest to your space, and can also serve as a functional piece of furniture that can hold items such as towels and cotton swabs.

4. Create a rustic and cozy bathroom with the right accessories

You don’t need to spend a fortune on your bathroom accessories, but you can certainly have fun with them. For example, this reclaimed barn wood tray does double duty as both a practical item and an attractive piece of decor that you can use to store your bath essentials.

5. Hang up a wreath or bow

Adding small wreaths to your bathroom door or wall is an easy and cheap way to add a little Christmas spirit to the space. For instance, Trader Joe’s has some inexpensive options for wreaths made of pine boughs that will look great on your door or wall.

6. Creating a custom washcloth reindeer

This is an easy project that you can do yourself and does not require a lot of materials or skill. It’s also a great idea to use up items you already have in your bathroom, such as toilet paper rolls!

7. Upcycle a mason jar into a snow globe soap pump

If you are looking for a simple yet creative way to add some holiday cheer to your bathroom, consider upcycling a clear mason jar. This simple project involves filling it with soap, a little Christmas tree and peppermints.

8. Turn an extra stocking into a festive display

The holidays are a wonderful time to celebrate, but they can also be a little overwhelming at times. This is especially true for kids. Having them try to decorate the bathroom can be confusing and take away from what should be a fun experience.

Instead of making your bathroom a cluttered mess, consider hanging up a small hand towel ring near the sink where it can be easily reached and a bath robe hook that you can use to keep your robe handy. These items are inexpensive and will really make a difference in your bathroom decor!
